How to soothe a sore throat with Manuka Honey

Manuka honey is the perfect remedy to soothe and relieve that pesky sore and scratchy throat. This magic in a jar (backed by science) is full of antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties which simultaneously fight the bacteria that cause those pesky viral infections. Its natural resistance to bacteria make it the perfect treatment for the first sign of a cough or cold.
You can use this wellness wonder for instant relief by having a tablespoon of deliciousness and let it slowly drizzle down the back of your throat. Using a MGO strength of 250 or above is best (the higher the antibacterial activity the better) - I am never without a jar of MGO 500 and MGO 800 in my medicine cupboard!
Our household go to remedy at the first sign of a sore throat or cough is to gargle warm water and sea salt (or colloidal silver) with a drop or two of clove essential oil (dont under estimate how powerful essential oils are - do not exceed 2 drops (1 drop for kids). This beats (in my opinion) any over the counter throat sprays and provides instant antiseptic properties that naturally numb, relieves and heals your sore throat. I then finish off with a tablespoon of Manuka Honey to soothe and protect (and reward the kids for all their gargling!!!). You will be amazed at how effective this simple and natural remedy work!
Another personal favourite is adding a teaspoon of Manuka Honey and a squeeze of lemon into warm water with freshly grated turmeric and ginger. I sip on this numerous times throughout the day for the ultimate antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, cough suppressing and immune boosting tonic!
