Manuka honey is a staple in our first aid cupboard! The active component MGO (which is scientifically and independently tested) has been found to stimulate and promote skin healing by clearing wound debris, maintaining hydration and controlling inflammation. The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agents enhance the natural healing process, speeding up recovery times and reducing potential infection.
We have two very active young boys who are always endlessly bouncing around into everything and anything. Manuka Honey is our immediate rescue remedy when the boys graze, cut or scrape themselves.
You wont get any resistance or tears when applying this little miracle worker as it doesn't sting like other over the counter creams or sprays. I always sneak a cheeky teaspoon to take their woes away, as I gently dab a small amount of Manuka onto the wound and then place a bandaid / bandage on top. Sometimes it is easier to dab the honey on to the white gauze pad of the bandaid (avoiding the sticky part) and then placing over the wound ( to ensure it sticks and avoid the honey messily dripping down the skin).
Change the bandaid / dressing and repeat every 24 hours for up to 5 days (depending on how sever the wound is). Watch this miracle worker perform its wonders!!!
